A PAISLEY store manager is set to become a star of the small screen after featuring in a new prime-time ITV1 series.

Angela Payne, who works at family fashion store PEP&CO at Piazza Shopping Centre, will feature in Bargain Shop War’s third episode which will broadcast on ITV1 on April 28 at 8.30pm.

In the episode, we see Angela and her assistant Ellie hit the local high street to check out whether there is a demand for PEP&CO’s key items – leggings and jeggings.

Angela discovers there is strong demand from Paisley customers for brown coloured leggings, so decides to seize the day and asks to be flooded with leggings from the warehouse.

With her wish granted, now her reputation is on the line as she tries to flog the lot.

She’ll have some help when Marketing Maestro Mark sets up a photo shoot to tempt bargain shoppers to become legging lovers.

As the posters hit the shops will they be the boost to sales that Angela needs to get rid of her mountain of pants, and can she help her male colleagues, Ethan and Sam, sell leggings to the ladies of Paisley?

Angela said: “We’re so excited to be part of this TV show, and it’s great to see Paisley having the national spotlight it deserves.

“Everyone at the store would like to say thank you to our customers and the town for welcoming us into the community, so make sure you tune in as you may see some familiar faces.”

The series will go behind the scenes in to how the retailer launched 50 stores in just over 50 days last summer.

Episodes will feature the people, places and faces that come together to launch in the highly competitive discount fashion market, and look at the challenges faced by the start-up and how other high street retailers react.

Adrian Mountford, PEP&CO managing director, added: “Paisley was one of the select few locations to start our journey in, as we felt it was the right place for us.

“It’s the PEP&CO people who really make the business what it is, and Angela and her Paisley team really do go the extra mile in making PEP&CO a success, delivering high quality, low price family fashion to our customers in Paisley.”

Commissioned for ITV by factual programming commissioning editor Priya Singh, Bargain Shop Wars is produced by Crackit North – led by Kerry Brierley who originally brought the BBC’s Pound Shop Wars to TV screens.
