Two men who were with a teenager on the morning he was hit by a van in Paisley are being urged to contact police.

Samuel Cameron, 18, remains in hospital after he was struck by a vehicle on Saturday, April 23, in Wellmeadow Street, near to Lady Lane.

Samuel, from Glenburn in Paisley, is in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as serious.

Sergeant Kenneth Malaney from the Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Divisional Road Policing Unit is appealing for two men who were with Samuel in Broomlands Street at around 3.15am to contact them.

Police say the pair may be able to help in establishing Samuel's movements prior to the accident.

Sergeant Malaney added: "In addition to these two men, police would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that may assist enquiries.

"Anyone with information should contact the Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Divisional Road Policing Unit at Greenock via telephone number 101."
