COMIC book fans descended upon Paisley’s retro gaming centre for a very special event.

Comicrazy’s grand relaunch saw an explosion of new comics, graphic novels and merchandise, bringing in crowds for the shop’s grand opening.

Customers were delighted with brand new consoles, arcade games and pinball machines at the Well Street store.

Owner John Gilbert, 31, originally opened Comicrazy in May last year, with the store relaunch on January 30.

The grand reopening saw a cosplay competition take place and a Golden Eye tournament.

There were prizes for the highest scores on the arcade and pinball machines as well as a Magic The Gathering session.

On top of this, Comicrazy had their usual back issue comics, graphic novels manga and DVDs for sale.

Paisley comic book artist Garry Robertson, was also at the launch signing copies of The Grime.

The artist has been creating comics for the last three years, with current projects including Bust #2 with Dave Cook, and City of Lost Souls #4 with James McCulloch and Janine Van Moosel.

He said: “I think it’s important for Paisley to have its own comic and gaming shop, it’s a vibrant community and I feel the town can only benefit from it.

“As Paisley is in the midst of a multi million pound facelift I feel the time is right for the town to embrace the comic community.

“It was great that we can support John Gilbert as he tries to give the town and the people of Paisley an outlet for creativity." and a place for fans to meet.”
