MEMBERS of Crofthead Bowling Club’s legendary Tufty Club honoured one of their stalwarts last week.

Malcolm Cosh, a member of the club for an amazing 70 years was presented with a gift by his friends in recognition of their respect for Malcolm.

He was presented with a German Stien beer-mug and a case of his favourite ale by Alec McDade, also a Tufty veteran and Crofthead regular.

Alec said: “Malcolm was a founder-member of RF and J Alexander Thread Mills social club, which later became English Sewing Cotton Mill and finally Crofthead Bowling Club.

“During the 70 years he has been involved, he has won the tennis cup, as well as a few bowling events and is still playing bowls — Long live a legend.”

The special celebration that took place in Crofthead Bowling Club saw a delicious tea, followed by a ‘few halfs’, according to Alec.
