FAMILY’S APPEAL FOR LOST PONY
By Caireen Kelly
A BARRHEAD family are appealing for the return of their missing pony.
Bambi, a four foot high Welsh Mare, went missing from the farm off Fereneze Road some time at night between July 26 and 27, leaving her owners mystified by her disappearance.
Mum Elizabeth, 40, and nine-year-old daughter Jennifer said they had been left devastated.
They have had the 25-year-old bay for the last nine years and Jennifer has grown up learning to ride and care for the pony.
And they fear that Bambi has been stolen and they will never get her back.
The gorgeous pony does not have any distinguishing features but her owners say she does look very old in appearance.
They also say that she is an excellent horse with a brilliant nature who is great with children.
Worried Elizabeth said: “We have searched the surrounding area around Barrhead and Neilston and can find no trace of her.
“Half a dozen horses have gone missing in the last 15 months because fences have been cut, but they have all been found.
“We have not been so lucky this time.
“Bambi is not the kind of pony just to wander off.
“But when she sees food it distracts her and she always stops to eat it.
“I am hoping that she is just hiding in trees or something and we have just missed her on our hunt. “
Elizabeth added: “It’s the not knowing that is devastating for me and my daughter, if anyone knows anything about her disappearance, we would urge them to contact the police as we are desperate for news.”
If you have seen Bambi, or have any information which can help find her and reunite her with her family, please contact PC Waugh at Barrhead Police Station on 0141 532 5700.
