DISTURBING footage showing a schoolboy’s head being smashed into the ground has been viewed by more than 3000 people.

Now the 30 second clip showing the 14-year-old St Lukes pupil curl up in terror as he is savagely beaten has been removed from Youtube.

The sickening footage captured on a mobile phone shows a mob of-up-to 15 schoolkids gather around and shout 'do him in’ as the teen is attacked.

The clip shows the fourth year Barrhead High School pupil punch him victim on the face, kick him to the ground, boot his head, stomach and legs then jump on his head.

And in a disgusting twist the 14-year-old ned finishes his attack by booting the teen in the face before walking away to cheers from the baying mob.

Now East Renfrewshire Council is conducting an investigation into the assault to find the perpetrator after the Barrhead News alerted them to the clip.

And they are also slamming Youtube for showing the footage which is being described as 'disturbing’.

A spokesman said: “We are very disturbed to view this clip. It glorifies violence and presents a false image of two schools which are highly regarded in their own right.

It is grossly irresponsible of the service provider to allow a clip like this to be posted and we have taken the relevant steps to make sure it was removed.

We will also ask our campus police officer who is based at Barrhead High School and who covers both schools to investigate the whole issue thoroughly. Both Barrhead High and St Luke’s have an excellent record of working together and it is more than likely that the incident shown results from trouble originating in the community rather than having a real connection with either school. Behaviour such as shown and the posting of it on the internet has no place in our schools or community and we condemn those who think that it is acceptable.”

It is believed the incident took place as the St Lukes pupil walked home from school and the fight is being linked to a community feud.

A spokesperson for Youtube said: “Having forwarded the clip to our review team we have taken the decision to remove the clip from the site.

“We condemn extreme violence and regularly review footage on Youtube.”

No arrests have made in connection with the fight.
